After installing XP SP2 on either pro or home at the Windows XP Bootup screen were it would say Home or Professional it no longer shows either. I notice this right after it came out and I installed it on probably 50 different computers with the same result.

Perhaps Microsoft didn't want Home users to feel inferior. 😛

Here's to a classless XP society!

A proggy like BootSkin can easiliy rid you of logos altogether or insert your own. May I suggest "XP Amateur"?

Well they kept the color, home is still green, which will never be as good as blue. So home users, dont let your inferiority complex leave just yet 😛

Doesn't bootskin edit ntoskrnl and default to "wannabe L337 h4x0r?"

hmm, after installing sp2 the green bar has disappeared from my XP Home edition being replaced with the blue one.

I used to edit ntoskrnl.exe with reschacker and boot.ini too but BootSkin does not mess with ntoskrnl so is cannot be foiled by OS updates. Either way, I just use a blank black image.

Yep, XP Home SP2 now has a blue bar.

And it loads FAST. Half a swipe and I'm into Windows. I absolutely love my WD 74GB Raptor. 🙂
