Anyone else notice Promedia 5.1s sound worse with equalizer on?

Anyone notice? I can't find an EQ setting that makes these speakers sound better, they always sound better with no eq on or with it flat. Why is that?

For what it's worth, my 4.1's sound better using an eq.

Because they are good speakers, and will expose the fact that those software equalizers are crap.

Because the speakers are doing a good job at reproducing the sound. Using the EQ is distorting a perfectly good output; thereby making it sound like crap.
Not being able to find an EQ setting that makes them sound better is a good thing.
