Anyone else notice Asian women in many more ads now a days?

i don't think that's very true for the ones i know... you could tell them about feminism and crap and they wouldn't care. this isn't a matter of ignorance, it's a matter of values and beliefs.

That's what I meant by the way they were brought up. It's their culture. It's different from American culture and Trinidadian culture and British culture. IE, Western. I can understand that different cultures have different values (hooray for Ant302), but it's annoying when I talk to a girl and she doesn't even know who Trent Lott is.

Edit: Obviously there are exceptions. I know one Asian girl who is an artist and consequentially politically and socially aware, even if she is a pompous ass (but a hot one) 🙂.

The girls that are born here are more feminist...the ones that are born back in Asia are more non feminist...they were brought up to respect the husband and males in general...and isnt that the way it should be?? =)

Yeah thas the way it should be. My cousin just recently married a girl that came from here from Vietnam about a year ago and its amazing how their relationship works. She doesnt go anywhere before calling him and asking for his permission. And if he says she has to stay home...she does. When her friend (also from Vietnam) i just laughed...i was like..wtf??!! =)

hmmm, she looks sorta familiar. anyways, she reminds me of every other chinese girl from bay area. she doesn't really stand out from other asian girls, imo. i used to live in Sunnyvale, btw.

They constitute more than Asians yet they get very little if any representation on Television. Its almost as if advertising people subscribed to that old theory of races, the negroids, mongoloids, and caucasoid were the only 3 races??
