Personally I am more excited about The Who at half time than the actual game. Mainly because I don't care about either team.

The Who on the other hand, one of the greatest bands in rock history. And they are still pretty amazing in concert.

Go to Youtube and watch their show at the concert for New York after 9-11. They totally stole the show, just amazing power and energy.

The ultimate set:
Who Are You
Baba O'Riley
Won't Get Fooled Again.

That set might be better than the game.

BTW this isn't a SuperBowl thread it is a Who thread :)

Nah, not really. While I don't like either team in the game, I'm not really a Who fan anymore. Some of their stuff was ok back in the day, but they just don't interest me all that much anymore.

Not really interested in this years game. I'll still watch though.

And The Who doesn't interest me. I like some of their music, but it doesn't really deserve to be in a superbowl halftime act.

Love The Who in general, but no Moonie and Entwistle... :(

hm, time to fire up Live at Wight again. "Ladies and gentlemen, a nice rock n roll band, from Shephard Bush London, The 'oo! Thank you very much." :)

Considering that they only play a few songs I'm not sure if there is much to be excited about. I saw the Who in 1975 for their Quadrophenia tour and they were fantastic. If you're excited 'I Can't Explain'.

yeah...hard to be excited about any super bowl performance. theyve had some great acts in recent years, but the halftime show is simply a sad shadow of what these groups are like live.

i can only imagine how awesome it was to see The Who c. 1975.

I usually couldn't care less about whatever band is performing at halftime of the Super Bowl. This year is no exception.

The Who are one of the greatest bands in rock history.

After the Beatles and the Stones they are probably the third greatest rock band in history. They've sold 100 million albums, which is very impressive when you consider that they haven't released a 'hit' record since the early 80s.

I can understand that you may not like them, but saying that they don't deserve to be in the half time show is crazy.

Well... the sound mixing was off for the first song, but otherwise a decent show.

Their voices are really ragged. And I think some of their power was lost in that big stadium.

The Who has always sucked.
They sounded like shit even while lip syncing.

I'm thinking what group of old guys they will reincarnate or dig from the grave next year.

Queen?

Shit, the technology is almost there.
