Anyone else lost interest in games as they got older?

I used to love playing a lot of games (all genres) when I was younger, but now they aren't as interesting anymore, except for a couple that I might get around to playing, and they are:

Gran Turismo 4
Metal Gear Solid series
some PC turn based strategy games, like civ.

I used to be a gaming freak.
This used to be a guy who didn't leave the house for 2 weeks straight cause he was hooked on Diablo II.

I never thought I would get bored playing games in general but I did a while ago.
The last game I actually spent time playing was Doom III.

yeah i am not getting the same satisfication..But i still love to play games.

I find that all the games i used to play i still love and play now..But i am finding it harder and harder to urge myself to learn new games. Old games i know i do well in...new ones i need to learn..

i am only 20 but still.

i suppose i was never INTO games, owned an NES, SNES, N64, Playstation 1, and an XBOX at varying times but i always got the consoles way after their release and never hd more than a few titles for each.
PC games samethin gonly game i have veer really been into was Unreal Tournament. But older i get the more they bore me, i don't look foward to sitting around for 20-100 hours to beat a game, and the harder or more realistic they are the moe i hate them. I am the guy in Halo that kills off all the marines before the end of the first level, drives around GTA3/vice city/etc stealing cars and running over people or jumping off anything i can find for ours and never do a snge mission, etc. i just want to have fun, not accomplish a set goal :)

Same here. Simple or non-detailed games don't interest me anymore.

ehhehe

i've almost stopped gaming. :( there are always must-play titles for me such as HL2 and KOTOR, which i usually finish once and then stop playing. every once in a while i'll get the craving for some old-school emulator gaming, but not often.

edit: possibly poll worthy.

I am 41 and I play WOW wTF is wrong with that? If this was the fifties-sixties we would be playing Monopoly or twister. I really don't see how playinfg games correlates to one's maturity.

Look at it this way....Today's first person shooter requires high end hardware. When Nvidia or ATI is marketing their high end video cards they are targeting adults who HAVE money to blow on a 500 dollar video card.

So I think it is safe to say I am not the only 40+ yr old guy who enjoys computer games in America ;)

I don't think I've really lost interest. I just have no time to play, and if I do have extra time, I spend it with my wife instead.

(or at work) :(

Well, you are playing the same game as GT3, MGS2, older PC strat games. Try playing something new.
