i dunno i guess you are looking for stuff like that. i never once thought of this as any kind of propaganda. but then again, i watch shows and movies to be entertained and nothing more.

I do notice it probably more than most just being around the Navy all the time. Things like them having all brand new equipment. M4's with eotech sights. Stuff like that. Rifles arent exactly a huge deal to the Navy for what should be obvious reasons. Every Navy ship ive ever seen the sentries all have older, scratched and beat up rifles with no fancy sights on them.

That and sending out the officers and senior enlisted personnel on pretty much every mission. Just makes me laugh. Yes lets send all the leadership of the ship out away from the ship with 1 or 2 new sailors lol. Like in episode two how they send the master chief with the head mechanic (i dont know what she is called on a non-nuclear boat) on a mission..

But o well i try to ignore that stuff. its still semi entertaining. Acting is really hit or miss. The main people arent TO bad. but all the supporting cast can be lacking.

startrek!
lets send the chief engineer to a random ship to help them. (and of course they kidnap him, take his phaser, and stun him multiple times w/it.)

I think the second season is set up to be way better than the first. Hopefully they don't fuck it all up.

like 1/2 way through the finale i was like "meh, THIS is how it is going to end, really? the cliched rebels living in the darks of the city against the rich government? why are they even against them?" but then with like 5 minutes left in the episode i was like "OOOOHH SHIT OKAY I LIKE WHERE THIS IS GOING! THEY ARENT REALLY THE BAD GUYS, THE GOOD GUYS ARE THE BAD GUYS!!!"

I figured something was up as soon as they wanted to assassinate that chick. That's why they weren't worried about the sick people, because they'd die soon anyways.

One thing that really bothered me though was one guy with a handgun taking control of the whole ship.

hah if that is the only thing about this show that bothered you, then i'd say that is a win. there was a lot more dumb shit in this show but i just accepted it due to suspension of disbelief. agreed about it being super stupid though.

Most of the other stuff just bothered me. This one thing really bothers me, heh.

Guns aren't just laying about the ship to be picked up. You put people at enough key locations, you're going to have to have a significant human wave to soak up the bullets to take them down. Any volunteers?

And normally you have Marines stationed at the door to the bridge - so where were they? Especially at port ...

Normally in the 80's and before.....marine detachements on ships vastly reduced for multiple reasons.

Did this get better? I stopped watching after episode 4 and got hooked on The Strain. Should I go back and watch this?
