comes out end of this month, can't wait. reviews on the Japanese version have been positive so far.

looks like they fixed a few issues i had gripes with too

I pre-ordered the CE of FF XIII-2 only b/c it comes w/ the soundtrack. I'm thinking of holding onto it and reselling it. Usually FF soundtracks are really expensive so this might cause the CE to be worth a decent chunk if it sells out.

If not, I am totally fine w/ keeping the game.

I haven't looked at the reviews or gameplay much but it looks pretty good overall from what I've seen.

Definitely looking forward to it - I really enjoyed XIII. I have the CE pre-ordered as well.

I actually quite liked XIII, so I'm definitely picking this up. The changes look pretty solid.

I finished XIII but wasn't very happy with it. I've been watching XIII-2 Japanese run-throughs on Youtube and I don't think I'll enjoy it very much, so I might actually give this a pass.

Here's to hoping Versus and/or XV delivers.

Yeah but then again the Japanese rate mind numbing garbage grinds like Monster Hunter perfection personified while classifying the likes of Bioshock as cheap and old looking. Clearly the Japanese have a very different taste in what constitutes quality then what I do. I'll wait for some more of the US/UK reviews to trickle in before I lay down the cash. I have no doubt they think grinding levels for hours on end is a gaming orgasm, I just disagree. But who knows, maybe their reviews called this one right. I'll have to wait and see.

Ironically one of the RPGs I enjoed the most in the past 5 years was Lost Oddysey, which in my opinion was more Final Fantasy in spirit than the latest couple major releases of the actual franchise. I wish Square would get back to the basics and focus on the elements that made these games great. There has been too much change for the sake of change.

I thought FFXIII was pretty with high production values, but very stale. I'm paying attention to FFXIII-2 though, so I hope they really did change things for the better.

I'm more interesting in Versus as well.

I actually never got around to playing 13, but I've mostly only heard negative things about it. I think the problem comes from it being a AAA title, but it sunk to such a linear level. I mean, Chaos Rings on iOS is pretty linear overall (supposedly Omega is slightly better in that regard), but it's not a AAA title, so you can kind of cut it some slack.

I did read a bit about how Square is trying to push that 13-2 is not 13, and that's mostly because of some of the negative air surrounding its predecessor.

Looking up some games on Wikipedia, it also seems a bit of a bummer that we may never see Final Fantasy Type-0... especially since the PSP isn't that popular over here.

I'm actually kind of looking forward to Xenoblade Chronicles. I'm more annoyed that it somehow takes them 8 months to bring it to the United States after a release in Europe. Is it really that hard to remove the 'u' from some words? :p

It's a day one purchase for me. I plan to play it instead of MW3 so much. Will until Diablo 3 comes out.

Speaking of which, what ever happen to Versus?

Supposedly they started a full-steam development cycle later last year, which means you may see the game later this year in Japan at least. Maybe a US release by Christmas time, but most likely early to mid 2013. So, almost a similar release as to what you're seeing with FF13-2.

I'm looking forward to it, but I don't know where to pre-order from, or to just wait anyways.

My main concern is if the pre-order bonuses will be availble via DLC at some point. I have like $50 free PSN money, so I don't care about paying for the DLC as long as it shows up. We have no idea if they're pre-order exclusives only or not.

The main one that is pre-order exclusive is the bow from Gamestop Power Up Plus. I'm hoping some of those codes just make their way to eBay or something.

Where are you all getting it from?

probably be preordering from gamestop

I had a pretty good experience with FXIII, enjoyed the paradigm battle shifting; early reviews are saying this one is even better, so I'm excited to play.

well i just got done playing the demo from PSN and I hated it. wth. the paradigm/battle system is faster, but it feels more confusing. the whole getting enemies to join your battles is just stupid. they should've given us a better stage to demo. this one was way too depressing. i think i'll pass on this one.

IGN review up too: http://ps3.ign.com/articles/121/1217386p1.html

I played the demo and it blew my mind 'cause the new battle system's so god damn complicated. I promptly deleted the demo from my ps3 and vow never to buy a FF game again.

How is it more confusing? It's the same, minus your monster companion's ability, and you switch paradigms instantly instead of waiting 1/2 the time.

Looks like it was smart to not preorder this game for the xbox 360. They were offering an extra $10 promo credit in addition to the original $20 at Amazon. Expired now.

And it is! Man, the CE edition is pretty nice in the packaging. Much better than any other CE I've ever ordered.. Now to play.
