I liked their song Pumped up Kicks, so the a couple weeks ago I pulled up some of their other songs on Youtube. I really like what I am hearing. Anyone else?
Seems to be the case with a lot of alt rock bands today. Pumped Up Kicks was my soundtrack to Summer 2011. Sheepdogs, Mumford & Son, and METRIC got a lot of airplay that summer too. I liked the Sheepdogs for their throwback 1970s sound but like Wolfmother, they never gained a lot of popularity.
Apparently a lot of stations dropped Pumped up Kicks after Sandy Hook, since the song is about a school shooting.
I was in to their whole album back around Pumped Up Kicks time, and I loved it. It really is a good listen. It might be a bit repetitive...you just hear a lot of the same beats I feel like. It grew old on me a bit faster than most albums.
I watch the guy perform and the way he dances makes me want to stab myself in the neck (should shrug, the way he "headbangs" to the side, his ridiculous feet movements)
And that's a shocking statement for me to say considering I dig Thom Yorke's seizure dancing.
