Anyone else like Big Love?

Since it came on right after Sopranos I gave it an episode or two and thought it was ok.

Then, for the last two nights they've been running three episodes at a time, with more coming tonight. It's allowed me to see more of the story line, and it's actually pretty good.

The character dynamics of this show is what makes it great I think.

Is anyone else here a closet Big Love fan.

Try to catch the three episodes tonight (starting at 8pm EST) if you can.

BTW, I hate Bill "Twister" Paxton, but he's been pretty good in this role.

Feminists? They're the exact opposite of a feminist. The annoying part I can see, but once you get past that you see the show has quite a bit of depth to it. Very many layers once you watch a few episodes.

I've watched every episode, and i'm still waiting for it to get interesting. It seems to be the same thing every week. His life is very hectic, we get it. That's what he gets for having 3 wives and 100 children 😛 - The writers haven't seemed to come up with any interesting story lines.

They could do more with that, I agree. I think the situation with Roman should be developed in a more violent way. He seems to be thinking of fighting Roman, he said "we gotta bring this thing to him". So maybe that will pan out to something interesting.

And of course there's Amanda Seyfried she's a good reason to watch!

H3ll, Chloë Sevigny is a total hottie when she lets her hair down.

Just can't get into watching Mormon TV 😉 Promoting the polygamist lifestyle may be funny in some ways, but it also reminds me too much of the scams that are perpetrated by the polygamist families on the welfare systems...one husband, 3-4 wifes, each with 3-6 kids...and all of them on welfare...then quite often pooling the money into a community pot to help make ends meet for all...

http://www.rickross.com/reference/polygamy/polygamy5.html
"Hildale -- Welfare is often how polygamist communities like Hildale in Utah and Colorado City in Arizona substantially support themselves. Polygamists often use food stamps to feed their families. Former polygamist Benjamin Bisline said, "If it wasn't for government subsidies, these people couldn't survive. There are people here with 15 wives on welfare.''

"Joe Knudson, a polygamist living near Colorado City claimed welfare dependency amongst polygamists is caused by religious prejudice, which has forced isolation from economic opportunities. He said, "They've created a ghetto here and shoved [us] into it and shoved a few crumbs our way to make [us] feel better...[and] forced us into an area where we have no other choice."

"In many Middle Eastern countries, there actually are laws limiting polygamy to men who can afford it, but in the U.S., Tom Green is at least as typical an example. He has thirtysomething children by five much younger (jobless) wives, yet lived in a trailer park (prior to prison) and was convicted of welfare fraud. His irrationally large family is not predicted by the model.

When welfare scammer Green married his fifth, 13-year-old wife, most people would agree that even though she would aver that she freely chose the arrangement, she was using very, very poor judgment. In fact, most people would probably agree that none of his wives acted in what could reasonably be described as her own (or her future children's) best interest when deciding to enter into this outrageously dysfunctional family. Yet, using the familiar hocus pocus of revealed preferences, Frank disagrees."

Yes, I fully realize this does NOT reflect the typical Mormon household...and I'm just having fun, based mostly on the "other" Mormon Thread.

Gotta admit, for a man, having multiple wifes does have some attraction, but it would be just my luck, they'd all go..."in cycle" at the same dammed time! Imagine multiple PMS!! :Q
