Anyone else keep a change drawer?

$81.42! It really didn't seem like that much. Even got a couple half-dollar coins and a few sacagawea dollars.

Now I find out if my bank will give me a hard time about depositing this🙂

Let's put it this way--I got overzealous out drinking earlier in the month, and found myself with an empty bank account with another week until my paycheck. I've been living out of mine without a problem since. 🙂

LOL, sounds like me in college.

For some reason I saw a CRAPLOAD more $1 coins in Ecuador than in the states.

Yes, they use the US dollar.

I throw mine in a 5 gallon water bottle, as well as a mix of $1 and $5 bills. Every once in a while it's handy to have, when I need pizza money. The damn thing is getting so heavy I can barely lift it anymore. I'm certain there is over $1000 in there, in misc change and bills. I started it in 2000, and vowed I would not count it til 2010. 🙂

Yeah, I did a lot of that in school. I'm not in school anymore, but I'm treating it as a self lesson in discipline with my wallet. I have a mortgage and a million bills to pay, so I really can't be digging into my savings every time I go out on the town and decide to buy the bar a round on me. This is my way of training myself to be more careful next time. 😛

I have had a change "tray" for years. Cleaned it out recently and deposited $31.50 in my bank account swearing to never let that happen again.

We collect our change in a jug (It's a watter jug...but not the big one...2-3 gallons maybe).

Then, each year before vacation, we count it out and cash it in.

Usually gives us an extra $100-$150 for vacation. (or nowadays covers the gas it takes to get there and back :disgust: )

I always used to use the Super Size plastic cups from McDonalds. Had a full one for pennies, nickles, dimes, and quarters. Turned them in once for over $100. Currently we just have a big plastic jug that pretzels or something came in from Sams.

Just took the change from my car's side pocket to coinstar. $108. 🙂 Used it for a firewire audio interface for my new notebook.

Gonna empty my work drawer and the other car and the change tray at home cause I need some new cookware.

My girlfriend and I recently counted my change collectoin, it came to $350.69 🙂

I have accumulated a little more since we counted that (about two weeks ago).
