Anyone else here hate people who don't take the stickers off of their Sony cameras (still or video)?

ARGH! I hate people who leaves all those stupid stickers on their digital camera or video cameras! They put like 10 stickers on their cameras! I hate it when people don't remove them all!

Anyone else hate this or is it just me? It's turned into such a pet peeve!

I would have taken them off but sometimes when you need to sell it, those stickers make them look like new.

It's a unique chance to exercise your will. I too feel compelled to remove all those unnecessary stickers as it detracts from the look of the item, however if it's not mine I've learned to not let it bother me....

i hate ppl who dont remove stickers off everything.... i had this friend's house a while back and he had a sony tv with a 3x3" sticker that said trinitron on the upper right corner that was never removed since new... i was like WTF?? it was already half peeling off. it wasn't that the tv was new, it was at least 5 years old. it bugged me so much that i went to remove it myself but he told me to stop cause his dad would get pissed.. i don't understand some people...geez

It's a good point, and I see where you are coming from, it's just that I see it all the time and it just looks so stupid.

i dunno, u don't see other consumer products come with stickers all over stuff inside a box the stickers almost seen part of the design sometimes haha. i could care less really as long as the stickers aren't ultra dirty or peeling.

Night201 is not a sticker leaver, neither am I. It just seems reflective of an insincere appreciation of the item... Why is it so important to leave the stickers on? It's like you're never really taking ownership of the item....

If I have one of the high end stuff, I would leave them on just to show off.
As for TV, I would take them off since most likely I would own it until it breaks and label on TV annoys me.
it's different with camcorder or digicam, especially one that cost more than 500 bux.

I'm not one of them, obviously. I never came to remove the 'Pentium' sticker off my old PC, I sold it with it on after several years.

To me that's different. I don't mind that. I just hate all the stickers that are like:
0-lux
720x zoom
night vision

I hate stickers, too.

I take them off any piece of home electronic equipment.

However, I'm not touching the stickers on my Sony Digital8 videocamera.
Wanna know why? Because I take the camera with me in various trips (this summer I took it to Europe for two months), and the camera got scratched and battered, even while kept in the bag. And I can clearly see that the stickers on my LCD have protected the outside screen , while the ones on top of the lens have protected my hood. The stickers stay.

GeeZ! Why do people get so nosey and try to tell people how to live their lives when unsolicited? It isn't your object, so mind your business. Grrr! It's one thing not to be fond of something, but to "hate" people who do something as simplistic as leaving stickers is just preposterous. Your objection isn't even the content of the sticker but the mere presence of the sticker. If you have that much time or energy to hate people who do something that you have the freedom not to do, then you've got major issues and haven't found much in life to keep you busy.

And yes, my stickers stay. What are you gonna do now, eh? Now that I know that it sucks much of your time and energy, I'll be sure to leave stickers on.

I think it increases the value when, and if, you do sell the item later. If EVERYTHING is intact, from the box it shipped in, packing material, manuals, hang tags AND stickers, you'll get more for it.

Ask auto enthusiasts the value of original stickers.

Edit: BTW, I had a friend that was just as anal about removing the cellophane from vinyl album jackets. Only good reason he could give me for doing that, was that it held static electricity. I owned and used an anti-static gun before playing the records anyway, so I left the cellophane on. If he and I were offering the same album for sale today, whose would be worth more? Mine with the cellophane intact, or his without?

I just take stickers off of everything I buy because I figure if the color ever fades from exposure to the sun, if the stickers ever get scratched or torn off or something, the camera will have this discolored square on it.
