Hey guys....I was just in a computer shop that I frequent....and I was looking at the TI500 cards there. One of the guys that work there came up and said many manufacturers are stopping the production of TI500 cards because of some defect.

Has anyone else heard if this is true....I ask because I was considereing getting a TI500 card.

Any info on this would be greatly appreciated! :)

hmm.. defects? im assuming that is not true, bucause lot of the Ti200 cards do overclock well into/over ti500 range.. and ti500 uses better memory and (supposed to be) more stable GPU.

Some how I doubt that. If there was a defect they would just fix it and ship the new models. There's a lot of money invested and a lot of profit left to be made for them to just abanddon the Ti500 line.

Moral of the story: never trust the guys in the computer store.

Hey Overman, true, most manufacturers are stopping their production of the Ti500, but not because of defects. Production is stopping because the Ti500 was meant to have a short lifespan, within a couple of months it will be replaced by the Geforce4Ti line, which will become the top of the line.
