Been like that for a few weeks at least it seems. When loading a video it just stays black. Have to hit refresh a bunch of times before it finally loads. Anyone else having this issue?

I had this problem. After I turned off my adblocker it worked every time. Seems like they might finally be trying to do something about ad blockers.

Yes. Same problem. Trying the adblock thing now.

And confirmed. Youtube is making you wait if you're running an adblocker.

Hmm sucks, so they're really going to try to pull off a forbes it seems. Though TBH I'm surprised they don't just embed ads right into videos while it's processing.

If they really do end up forcing ads I imagine it won't be long until there is an extension that lets you "preload" a bunch of videos at once in the background or something.

It's probably Flash. Try the YouTube All HTML5 addon for Firefox or the Greasemonkey script ViewTube.
