Anyone else having this funky problem with the Intellimouse v4.0 software?

I just upgraded to v4.0 of the Intellimouse software for my Intellimouse Explorer v1 and now I can't reassign the thumb buttons! Anyone else getting this or know a way to fix it?

Completely uninstall your mouse and it's drivers. Boot into safe mode first, however. Once you've done that, reboot again, then install the drivers. Should fix your problem.

i had the problem were it said i had the correct mouse (intellimouse optical) but it wouldnt let me assign anything but left button, right button, and scroll. i just went back to my old intellipoint.

i am having a problem with those drivers i think it is too. my problem is that the mouse freezes like and the icon will change to goofy stuff (like other mouse icons or half of a mouse icon). I've tryed unplugging the USB intellimouse optical and plugging it back in but it doesnt help. the thing is my computer isnt freezing. i can use keyboard commands to keep doing the things that I'm doing. Anyone have a problem like this??
