Anyone else having problems with Steam?

I was just trying to start TFC, and it shows me a screen that says:

Updating Team Fortress Classic: Preparing to play Team Fortress Classic.

Then it just sits there. Anyone know what might be going on? I was playing earlier today just fine, then steam crashed and I had to kill it (taskman -> kill process), now, no go. 🙁

I was on last night NP. CS and DOD though.

It did update CS like you described for TFC, but was just a short while.

yes steam doesn't work fore me.

It sucks. It keeps forcing me to re-input my CD key every time I want to play.

You might have a defective key.
