Anyone else having problems with Firewire card and WInXP??

Installed Firewire card (PCI) running windowsXP, and get a hard lock. Tried different slot... still no go.

Any solutions?

Solutions:

SB Audigy, fire wire port works great under XP
Try a different brand card
Make sure the card itself is not deffective
Call coustomer support
 
Bought at crapUSA... so no support.

The card is fine.... as many others are having problems with WINXP and PCI firewire cards.

Just hoping that others have found the solution.

Do not want an Audigy. Would prefer to find others who have been down this road... and have run across a solution to running a PCI firewire card... with WINXP.

Cool.

I upgraded to a SOYO Dragon Plus and card installed perfectly. Guess it was that crap MSI motherboard. I had nothing but problems with it from the beginning. Glad I got rid of it. Really like this new SOYO!!!! 🙂
 
i had the same exact problem with that crap FW/USB crapusa card, i got another generic one that works great.
