Anyone else having issues with selling cars on CL?

no external pictures ... I know that is also a nono too.... yeah I agree, I am not going to give it to some kid who can barely keep up with his life as it is, LOL.

You must be competing against some asshole who's flagging your shit.

Me and my friend both sold our cars on CL, sold within a day. Either the market for your car sucks or you're pricing it way too high.

I do see 2 other cars from dealers for sale .. my guess is it is them... they're priced about 4-5k more then me. granted it is a dealer.

yeah, my first thought is competition flagging you.Probably would be a dealer, because I think you need a certain number of flags to get it removed. They can enlist all their cronies in the flagging.

And I wouldn't be surprised if all local dealers tend to do this for any non-dealer ads on CL. Pretty much an unspoken pact to maintain a local price-fixing scheme. jerks.

Really the only things you should be selling on Craigslist is apartments and hookers.

Sold my titan on CL a couple months ago with no problems. 2nd person who came to look at it bought it.

No flagged posts, no serious spammers.. it was nice.

doesn't it take many flags to be removed? It can't just be the dealer flagging it and then it get's removed unless he has some script with many virtual machines, or an army of users flagging it for him I don't know the number

I have read they have scripts/bots that can do it easily, and get it done in under a few hours.

ok well then like some previous poster said, I say you fight some fire with fire. My guess would be they only allow 1 flag from 1 ip address but I could be wrong. Try leaving out some spacing or word change. Something in the ad is trigger it and maybe just put a few simple words in it just to test out.

/this is the answer.

there are TONS of people on CL who include completely non-relevant key words in their ads, so their items come up no matter what you search for. i would flag one guy repeatedly on the musical instrument forum for this, and his posts were never removed. there's probably some second tier paying customer CL member status that nobody knows about.

you also may have been blacklisted.

Create a new account hopefully from a new ip.

Even if craigslist doesnt delete it, alot of posts never get published either. You can edit it and see it in its own specific link but it will never go up on the main page.

I actually did this, same issue flagged and removed in about 2 hours.

looks like the listing is staying up now, I can even search it!

if it stays up this time around, you were blacklisted. Dont use your old account again

nono, I am using my old account again @ home where I have been getting flags every few hours, I was auto denied on a new account as well. With a new email/domain/IP...same issue, 2 hours or so and it was flagged for removal.

But I tried again, only difference is new pictures, same angles, just gave hte car a bath and retook pictures and it's staying up and is searchable now.
