Anyone else having a problem with the latest Firefox not recognizing that plugins were installed?

Many sites can't tell that I have both Flash and Flip4mac WMV installed even though both are and work fine on other sites. Never had this problem until recently.

Anyone else?

Did you install the plugins before or after installing FF3? I have found that sometimes I have to reinstall some add-ons after updating FF.

Wow.. does the same thing for me. Weird. I know Flash works. I'm wondering if it isn't an issue with v10. I've had quite a few sites tell me I don't have Flash installed, when I definitely do. And I wasn't having this issue before v10.

Happens for me too, so I'm guessing it's something on THEIR end...

ie: They choose to just send certain browsers to a no flash page instead of making their coding standards compliant... or the coding is so jacked up that it kicks us to a no-flash page unintentionally.

If flash is working on some pages then I don't think it's a problem on your end, especially if you're up to date.

edit: The flash page loads in safari, so I think that's a pretty good indication that it's not a problem with flash.

Yea.. as I've been exploring.. this is what I think is happening.

Sites can check your Flash version upon entry, and redirect you to a different page if you don't have that version. A lot of sites will do this because they have a certain feature which will only work with that version.. the problem, though, is when they don't update it when a new version comes out. It causes the site to think that you don't have flash installed.

Really annoying. I'm finding web design, in general, really annoying lately. NONE of these browser work the same and they all render sites differently. And not completely differently.. but enough to make it infuriating.
