I'm not a big music lover to begin with let's start off with that. And what I do like is mostly world music or classical music (bach, mozart etc...). That's not to say though that I don't like ANY more contemporary music. But my tastes are so damn eclectic that it's impossible to know what I'm going to like. I have bits and pieces of everything from rap to disco to rock and more. I like quite a lot of 70s music (though again not most of it). I like cold play, red hot chilli pepers, gnarls barkley,2pac etc etc... Thing is that I often come across a song that I like and then track down what else the artist(s) have done and find that I hate almost everything else they did. I find that the one track I like happens to be the black sheep of their career (the one song that's different from everything else they did). This happens all the time. Anyone else like this?

Here's a list of the songs I have on my Ipod right now:

Coldplay - Viva La Vida
2 Pac-2Pac- I ain't Mad At Ya

I've got stuff from Industrial to prog rock to traditional scottish/irish music to Russian rock.

I don't listen to rap, country, emo crap, or pop music, like Britney Spears or backstreet boys.

i've got music from all sorts of genres that i generally hate. specifically, though, there's good stuff everywhere.

i can pretty much peg myself to a favorite genre, though- prog rock and it's derivatives. perhaps it's a function of that genre's diversity that i like anything from classic to rap to jazz to some pretty brutal metal.

edit: with your list up, i'd say listen to more hendrix and less coldplay. ;P

Some may say so but I like to explore. There's so much stuff out there to miss by limiting yourself to what radio plays. I guess it helps to know folks that are in the biz too. :D

Strange probably isn't the best word, eclectic, maybe, but most of the songs on your playlist read like selections from "Best of" CDs.

I've been told I have pretty strange taste in music. My passion is metal, especially melodic and progressive death metal, but I also love country, bluegrass, jazz, classic rock, klezmer, zydeco, classical and even a little bit of technco/electronica. It's always interesting when I shuffle my songs and go from some brutal death metal to Kenny Rogers or something.

I don't have a tendency to like only one song of a particular artist though. Usually if I find a song that I like, I will purchase the majority of the artist's catalog and most of the time thoroughly enjoy it all. But I love all kinds of music so it's tough to find music that I don't like (Limp Bizkit and Nickelback would be the two bands I can think of that I truly detest; everything else I can at least tolerate).

That music isn't weird at all, just diverse.

When most people my age are listening to death metal, punk/ska, or pop, I listen to rock from the 80s/90s, industrial, techno, trip-hop, and other electronic music. Ehh.

I only like greatest hits, not into bands anymore. If I had to choose one it would be RUSH but even they haven't put out any good music in 20 years.
