Computers and Bowling for me. In the last year I've dropped about 3k on a couple laptops, and another $350 on bowling equipment, plus the USBC fees and league dues, then practice games, it's fun but it can be expensive when you first get into it. On top of buying a ball and getting after it, you learn more, you get stronger, you start requiring different balls for different conditions.....time for a money sink.

If you can call tuition, books, rent and LSAT classes hobbies, then yes I have some ridiculously expensive hobbies. For instance I just spent $1100 for lsat class, $1500 for tuition, and $460 on rent...today. I celebrated by eating 6 week old hot dogs sans buns (who eats 6 week old hotdog buns, thats just gross!) and washed it down with milk that expired last saturday.

My SCUBA habit isn't as expensive as, say, the faberge egg habit above, but customization of gear gets pricey. I'm from the Northeast, which means if I dive at home, I'm using a drysuit, which costs a ton to maintain. My regulator was a couple hundred bucks, my fins were about $200, my mask and snorkel were about $100, my BCD was about $300, my dive watch cost about $800, and each dive (in the US, from a boat, with a divemaster) set me back about $75-100. Whenever I get new certs, though, I do it somewhere nice and warm and non-english speaking (read:indonesia) so the classes are cheap and the dives cost no more than $35. Oh, and the flights to good dive destinations aren't cheap, either...

I have about $600-700 into the cars but only went entry level into the flying stuff...cheaper electric. Still, I've got easy $400 into that.

Yeah its called snowboarding and I've lived in Florida all my life.

I've been going to Colorado at least once every year for 10+ yrs now.
First it was skiing and now its exclusively snowboarding.
Even moved to NorCal for a yr so I can go snowboarding regularly.

Yeah and I play golf alot too.
I need to stop doing the expensive sports.

it does. But I've found that the more you play, the less expensive it gets. you're just paying greens fees once you're setup.
