Anyone else have koilonychia?

So I finally have a name for this. I have it on a few fingers. I did a search on the net and there can be a few causes like trauma to the nails, iron deficiency, etc. Unfortunately there is actually very little info on the net. I feel no discomfort or anything, but I don't want to die. As a male who likes meat with relative frequency I find an iron deficiency unlikely.

Has anybody else looked into this? I may see my doctor one of these days. I've had it for several years and it's just annoying!

I have it on a few fingernails as well. I just went to the dr. a few weeks ago, who told me to take iron pills, drink less beer, and dont have unprotected sex.

I have a feeling the beer and the unprotected sex have nothing to do with the koilonychia.

So that's what it's called. I had a Jehovah Witness come to the door once, many years back and I noticed all his nails were concave, it just sort of freaked me out. I've never seen someone with concave nails again, so I always wondered if I was just seeing things.
