anyone else have bad experience with best buy warenties?

mine is my jvc svhs vcr paid for the extended warenty
a rental tape totally messes up it's ability to read certain tapes which were playing fine from then on
take it to the best buy in okcity and tell them I think that the heads could have been damadged and may need replacing
few weeks and they said it was ok now I took it home and messes up exactly the way it had before
I bought watership down new from amazon-it cant play it unless I dont mind I never see it's picture
anyone know why?
and has this happened to you?

may be they just performed a head cleaning for your vcr?
nowadays vcr most have auto head cleaning, so no need to buy extend warranty for that.
