We got some extremely old monitors and keyboards (ibm) in my dads store. It uses a as/400 system, but startes as a ibm 36 (or something like that). And that are 15 years ago or something. And the monitors are on all the time, and some have even lasted the whole time... one died last week though (RIP). I came down to it, and hit a key... then I heard a terrible noice from the monitor, and no output on the monitor anylonger.
Are there someone who knows how to fix this? We are beginning to go empty on these now, and we are not going to change to pc's (well perhaps we will change till a few pc's though). We are now setting up a cisco 2612 router. tokenring<->Ethernet<->wan. But I would still like to know if there are some easy fixes to the monitors? we got around 10 dead ones now, but luckily we got some used one from another company to change the dead. But I must say that the as/400 system is the most stable system I have ever seen!!
