Anyone else have an HP laptop....

I have an HP zv5000 with a 3GHz P4 processor, and the battery life is terrible. Not even an hour and a half and the battery is dead.

Is this a Pentium 4 thing or something? My cousin has a Dell with a 1.7ghz centrino and the battery life is much much better, probably a little over 3 hours.

Its a Pentium 4 thing 🙂
Pentium M and Core Duo/Solo are the processors you want for longest battery life. Turion and Turion X2 are just as good too.
But yeah, Pentium 4 + laptop = short battery life and lots of heat 🙂

The mobile P4 in your laptop has a maximum power draw of 88W; for comparison the latest offerings from Intel have a 31W TDP with MUCH lower average power usage. Nothing to do about it bud, except sell that tinderbox 😉

Oh dang lol I figured. And yeah, this thing gets very very hot. Hmm, maybe it is time for a new laptop. 😛 This HP just doesn't cut it.
