Anyone else have a comcast DVR?

SO my DVR i have certain programs set to record only new episodes.

But if that new episode airs 3 times in a day it will record it each time and write over the previous recording.

The problem is that sometimes the recorder will be recording the show at 9:00pm when I told it to record at 7:00pm and the 9:00pm show is a re air of the same new episode. So at 9 when i am watching something else it wants to switch to that 9:00 show to record!

I called comcast and the lazy guy on the phone said to just return the box but I wanted to see if anyone else know anything more about this before i potentially waste my time returning the box for a new one when this is just crappy comcast programming to begin with.

I have the Scientific Atlanta 8300 HD DVR from Comcast and it really is a worthless POS. If I pad a couple of minutes to the front and back of a program it seems to arbitrarily add 20-30 minutes instead of the 2 minutes I specify. Compared to my DirecTV TIVO box the interface seems like it was designed by a moron, no skip features, slow FF and FR.

Mine does the same thing. It's not a problem with the box, it's unfortunately the way it works.

I went through 3 motorola DVR Comcast boxes before I said "F it" and went back to DirecTV. Best thing I ever did.

I have a Motorola HD DVR and haven't experienced that problem. What kind of box is yours?
