I renewed on 11/1/02, even got an email confirmation of the payment.

Anyone else had a problem with renewal, or has everyone else's gone off without a hitch?

No problems here. What exactly is the problem?

I get the message:
Sorry, either you are not currently an AnandTech Subscriber or your subscription has run out.

This is after I paid the $30 to renew and got a confirmation email from iBill.

I have also sent an email to subscriber@anandtech.com, but have heard nothing.:(

It allowed me access to the subscriber server so I thought everything was OK, except when I went to check how many days I had left it said 0. I was renewing on the last day of my previous subscription which expired 11-1-02.

So I could access the remainder of 11-1-02, but on 11-2-02 I was given the your not a subscriber message.

I too am having this exact problem. Sent an email to subscriber@anandtech.com but haven't heard back yet. I renewed on the 2nd because I'm assuming that my subscription has run out (I never received an email or PM notifying me). I received the confirmation from ibill but my credit card has not been charged yet and my subscriber account is still giving me that same error.

Mine expired on the 1st of Nov, I re-newed for 1 yr. and I still can't get into it.

I have sent (and been replied to once) a couple of emails about this.

I just sent another email with the confirmation number etc...

It has yet to post to my CC though.

Looking at the confirmation email from iBill it seems that I renewed on the 3rd rather than the 2nd. So far today my CC has not been charged and I still cannot log in to the subscriber network.

When I renewed at iBill I was prompted for my forums username/pass and then redirected to the subscriber forums. Unfortunately I do not recall exactly what the anandtech page showed but I do remember trying to log in the same as always to the forums.

After my second email to subscriber@anandtech.com I received a near immediate response so I can only assume that things are being taken care of right now <cross fingers>. :)

EDIT: As expected things work fine now. Not sure what the problem was yet though.

I was out of town when my subscription expired. When I renewed, in doublechecking my password, I accidentally closed the ibill window after paying but before getting my user name and password entered. There was no way I could find to get back to that window. I got the two emails that I had paid and donated, but I can't get to the subscription forums. I emailed the subscription address, but looks like there may be lots of people having problems.

Moonbeam, once you've closed that window thats it, which makes sense or its a huge security risk for ibill. Ibill has nothing to do with updating your subscriber account so anand has to manually setup your account now. That isnt a problem with the subscriber stuff just an honest mistake.

Now, for everyone else i need more info.

This is how it works:

You get to the final page on bill which asks for your username and password, which then takes you to www.anandtech.com/subscriptions.html and it asks you to verify your information you then hit the create subscription button and then you are presented with a page that should be similar to this (depending on what you purchased). You are not redirected to the subscriber forums, that never happens.

Your 12 month subscription is now active.

You have an existing subscription that was due to expire on November 09, 2002 9:18.

We will add 12 months to your existing subscription end date.

What I think is happening is that after entering the forum username and password and hitting submit people aren't going any further as I've tested this repeatedly by setting myself up to expire 3 days from now then renewing for 12 months and every time my subscriber info is updated properly.

Ideas are appreciated.

>people aren't going any further as I've tested this

You are probably correct.

For example, I renewed yesterday with 9 days left on my sub. However I did it at work and didn't have my log in password with me since it's at home. I just rely on my cookie to log me in at work. (bad I know)

When I got approved yesterday for a 1 year subs with iBill it then gave me the forum username and password to log back in (which I wasn't expecting at all) but since I didn't have my password with me and that I was already logged in I just closed the window and went back to the forums I had open in another window. I though that just being approved by iBill Anandtech would automatically upgrade my subscription.

Even after being approved by iBill are you saying that we are absolutely required to log back in on that screen for the info to be updated properly ?

If so that would probably explain things. I renewed yesterday without loggin back in and now have 8 days left : (

How long should it take between the iBill approval and the subscription info to be updated ?

Also perhaps as a requirement on the Subscription page under the Sign me up, you should add number 8) should read 'be sure to have your login name and password since you will be required to log back in to complete the renewal process' or something similar.

Again I'm sorry but I wasn't expecting to log back in nor did I think that I was required to complete that log in screen. do I have to send an email now explaining this ?

Edit: after re-reading I saw this in number 5) "After you have done so and the transaction is complete be sure to keep a copy of the transaction id number for your records and type in your AnandTech Forums user name and password."

It just looks a little ambiguous.

Great, that explains it, i have updated the subscriptions page so it is much more clear about the process. We are working on housing all this ourselves so that the process is much simpler.

Thanks

I too messed up by not following through during signup. Sent an email to subscriber@anandtech.com several days ago and am waiting for a response. In the mean time I am logging into the normal forums. It's much faster than it was.
