I think this year has really sucked for me.
-mother is really ill
-work is not going so well
-dating life is horrible. Got my heart broken by someone I was really into.
-lost a bunch of money gambling

Nothing in general that I'm too happy about that happened in 2010. Hopefully 2011 will be much better. Anyone else had a sucky 2010?

Blech, that does sound like a crappy year, hopefully 2011 will go better! 2010 wasn't particularly good for me either, but it wasn't all that bad, we (wife, kids and I) have A LOT to be thankful for

2010 sucked.

Just a couple of weeks ago I closed the final chapter for the reduction of my rapidly-expanding (as of '07) business back into what I had in the early '00s.

The usual issues - over-expanded at exactly the wrong time, too many commitments and not enough revenue, so have to shut down entire swathes of the business just to pay the bills. In the end, I'm left with practically nothing of what I had in '07-08. Back to square one. Personally I'm hardly destitute (despite having taken a 100% pay cut for late '08-now) but it has definitely had an effect on my confidence.

Sounds like all of those issues except for your mother being ill are things that you've done to yourself. I had a great year but I wasnt just crying like a baby sucking my thumb I actually made shit happen.

Wow...talk about kicking someone when they're down- for all you know the only thing OP did to himself was losing the $$...getting your heart broken isn't always in your direct control, and who knows what his work situation is like and if it had anything to do w/ his direct performance...

Personally can't complain about 2010...first year in 7 or so years of being single- waaay less stress and much better finacial year....

Had some really serious health problems that are now resolved thankfully and had to make a few life altering decisions which both turned out well and things are on the up and up now. 2010 was a hard fucking pill to swallow, here's hoping 2011 goes down easier.

-Broke up with the girlfriend
-Moved out of my swanky apartment into a basement suite
-Lost a lot of my friends
-My job has become stale

On the upside

-I'm moving in 5 months
-I'm back in school full time now
-I'm quitting my job in May
