So I bought a new heat sink off of Newegg.com...shipped via 3-day select. Was billed on the 22nd and departed the same day. Arrived in Atlanta on the 23...I live in GA and Atlanta is like an hour away...now taking in Sunday and Monday as being off days for UPS employees, the latest I would expect it to get here is Tuesday...especially since they are open Tuesday and the package is like 1 hour away...but according to the tracking number it won't get here til 28th! Thats a Thursday for those who don't know.

Anyone have any idea why it would take nearly a week for a 3 day shipped package? Especially since its in the state and they operate on Tuesday. WTF are they doing for 3 days??? Admiring the package or something?

Anyone else have ridiculously long waiting times for packages like this?

This has never happened to me before...I miss them having Fedex as being their cheapest provider...not that Ive had issues with UPS before this...but I don't think its Neweggs fault. Once it leaves their hands its all up to the shipping company.

1. UPS is often slow and many of it's employees simply don't care.
2. 6 whole days to get something in the mail. Oh noes! The world is ending! I am so calling the post master general!

Saturday doesn't count as a day either. The 22nd to the 28th is 3 days (26, 27 and 28)

You don't count the day it's shipped.

Um... it's all about TNT (time in transit). Your package shipped on the 22nd, Friday. Given that Tuesday is the next business day having it delivered then would be like getting 1day service. Technically your package does not have to be delivered until Thursday (Wednesday if there was no Monday holiday) to be on time.

Now based on what your saying you will get it Wednesday which is still actually early. The tracking number will always tell you the on time delivery date, even if it is delivered early. So a 3DS package will always show three business days later as the expected arrival date. Being that your an hour away I expect Wednesday as tomorrow it should arrive at your local center and be on the car Wednesday. Nice job dude, you paid for 3DS and got 2DA!

BTW, UPS does not work Saturday or Sunday* as well as holidays, it's only one branch of FedEx that work Saturday.

*-There are some Sunday sorts but they count as a Friday TNT since those buildings operate sorts Sunday - Thursday.

UPS has been weird for me this past week too. I ordered something that i should have gotten on Friday. I look in the tracking and it says "trying to verify correct address". WTF does that mean? I checked and my address is right. Not to mention i buy something from Newegg at least 2 times a month. UPS is here a lot.

Most likely there was an issue with the label. If UPS has been to your place, especially frequently, then a label issue is normally corrected in one day since they have you on file. In this case the package was supposed to be delivered Friday so if all goes well you will get it Tuesday.

It's not Newegg. If it shipped on the 22nd, 3-Day shipping should have it arriving on Thursday (because UPS doesn't count any weekend day or holiday into their shipping estimate). If it doesn't arrive on Thursday, the shipper gets a full refund from the shipping service. If UPS isn't delivering on that day, that day doesn't count toward their guarantee. You can't ship a 3-day package Friday afternoon and expect it to be delivered Tuesday when Tuesday is only the 1st day.

Friday: Shipped
Saturday: Next-Day-Air + Saturday Delivery, or doesn't count
Sunday: doesn't count
Monday: holiday, doesn't count
Tuesday: Next-Day-Air
Wednesday: 2-Day Air
Thursday: 3-Day Priority

You won't get your package before Thursday.
