Anyone else given up on waiting for the 2407?

Maybe when the 2707 becomes available, I will gain interest again. But the 2407 is taking way too long to come to fruition after months of speculation. I recently purchased a Westinghouse 27w7 and I am very happy with the quality, even at it's relatively low resolution. Anyone else give up waiting and buy something else?

I did.
I just got a 20'1 LCD instead, the new 2007WFP, I got quite cheap and later on I intend to get a second one!

yep. Gave up on it and I couldn't be happier with my 20WMGX2 :D (well, i would if it didn't have this 1 stuck pixle that only shows up on a full black screen, but i hardly ever notice it.)

yep after i snagged up a 2405fpw for 628$ taxed included & free shipping.

It arrived friday but the stupid dhl guy used the wrong door to my house. So I had to wait the whole weekend until tommorow to get it. Hopefully the guy sees the sticky note i left him at the door to use the other door next time.

I'd rather have something like a 24WMGX2 ;) So waiting for the 2407FPW seems silly to me.

Really, the only disappointing aspect of the 20WMGX2 is its resolution (otherwise its pretty much the best LCD monitor you can buy). But I'd really love to have a monitor that could playback 1080p content, unfortunately you need a 23" desktop LCD or larger to do it without compromise, so I?m going to save up until there is something that?s almost as good as the 20WMGX2 (hopefully as good if not better) that can do at least 1920x1080 (although if it?s a true PC monitor it?d probably be 1920x1200).

i'm waiting for hdcp support, no sense in buying an hd monitor without it.

I'm still waiting. So long as it comes out this year, I think I'm set on getting one.

Exactly. 23WMGX2 probably, since LG.Philips makes 23" S-IPS panels, not 24". 24" = PVA, and I really don't like PVA panels. Too slow on some color transitions, plus clearly worse REAL (not listed) viewing angles than IPS.

Yep. I ditched the idea of getting this monitor because of this reason as well, but not due to HD movies. I simply couldn't stand the small 1280*1024 or even smaller 1280*960 window in games that don't support widescreen... and I play plenty of them.

You can already get that panel in a 23" Philips monitor. Dead Pixel Free Warrenty FTW!

Yea, the 230WP7. I don't like it though, not my cup of tea in terms of looks. Plus, the specs say 12 ms everywhere (8 ms g2g in a press release I read). If it's 8/12, it may be clearly slower than the 6/12 20W(M)GX2. The 2 ms can really make a difference.

That's another thing about the 20WMGX2 that NEC struck gold with, its slick looking. Its nothing way out there, but that is what makes it great. The no frills look - its just the monitor and thats what it does.

I'm hoping they put out a larger version (I guess it would be 23"), I'm not right up to date on current LCD stuff but that's because nothings is on the market that has really forced my attention, the 20WMGX2 caught my eye for a breif moment but it really isn't what I need. I'd gladly pay more for such a quality monitor vs. its competition (which it clearly trounces), but to pay that much for monitor that is ultimately going to be dissapointing only because of the resolution (or lack thereof) just really doesn't work for me - I'm just going to keep saving until that day when I can get what I want without any such major compromises.
