anyone else get scared playing Max Payne?

not much of a gamer but I got this game and I'm pretty much at the beginning where you get off the subway and enter that "employees only" or whatever door and see blood smeared all over the hallway leading to the bathroom. man I'm freaked....

I am I alone on this?

well I haven't played CS...I've played quake demos at that seems pretty tame to me...i guess it's the storyline/atmosphere etc..that does it for me on MP

They just annoyed me. :disgust: Now... Aliens vs. Predator 2... now that is a piss-your-pants kind of game when you play the Marine.

Actually, milagro, that scene freaked me out, but not actually scared me. I was like "damn, these people who made the game are sickos." It looked too real -and I've never actually seen that level of carnage in real life.

Man, if Max Payne freaks you out, Clive Barker's Undying would turn your hair white and give you a heart attack. THAT game is freaky.

I remember the first time I played a FPS (first person shooter) game. Doom II on my uncle's Pentium class system ... oh man was I scared! I nearly fell off the chair every time a pixilated monster jumped on screen. After having played these games for years, I'm sometimes too calm and end up a pile of "gibs". This is especially true for Multiplayer games, in which sometimes I relax so much that I might as well be sleeping behind my armchair AK.

I don't like playing as the marine, especially during night and alone.

Alien vs. Predator scares the crap out of me. I saw the movie Alien when I was 9 or 10 and the alien was a major part of my childhood nightmares.


Of course... Doom scared me to death when I first played it. I still can't drink Sprite

If you're scared just playing the regular version of Max Payne, don't get the Kung Fu mod for it. Nothing like getting upclose and personal to your next victim.
