My other job, is running a small web development company from my house. I have one employee that I 1099 who also works from home.

Having said that I got this email this morning and it is like all the others I get on a daily basis:

Hello!
We are India Based web development Company with more than 500 clients all over the world.
You can view our work on www.not-gunnadvertiseyoursite.com
We offer following services on project basis or virtual office (you can higher our company services per person per month) basis.
Our services are web designing, logo designing, web based programming, web site promotion and search engine optimization.
At present, we offer this service to number of companies abroad. We also work in your business hours for better co-ordination.
Your company will be benefited through better price realization, advantage of experience professionals at very competitive price and opportunity to stay ahead of competition.

It honestly takes every ounce of restraint I have not to fire off hate messages to these people that spam me. Am I just a good old stupid American businessman who can not in good conscience get rid of the guy that I pay $50 an hour to in favor of hiring an entire team of Indian developers?

Should I care more about my bottom line than I do about my country and my people?

I need some help here. I have figured out that I would make at LEAST, $15K more a year if I just dump my guy to the curb and use any one of these Indian devs. Hell, he doesn't have kids yet but did just buy his first house. He will bounce back right? That IS the American spirit, right?

I can not become what I despise just to make more money. Can I? I still make pretty good side money paying him his $50, but I would make a lot more if I outsourced. This is the decision that many business owners face every day in this country. What is it that makes some of them say, why yes, fvck my workers, Daddy needs a new Boat? Just don't get it.

First rule of business letters:
Spell correctly and use proper grammar.

That is all.

Are there any tax loopholes you can use to make even more money by outsourcing? I know bigger corporations do it all the time.

The reason I post this is that on this kind of board, there has to be someone in my position who HAS in fact, take the jump and HAVE outsourced like this. How does one reconcile this? I could not live with myself if I did. But I REALLY could use the extra money with kids approaching college age.

There are a great deal of businessmen that don't give a sh*t about their employees. That's a pure and simple fact. Principles > money imho.
