Anyone else get Far Cry bundled with their BFG 7800GTX?

There's nothing anywhere on the box, nor on BFG's site, regarding their 7800GTX that would indicate it comes with Far Cry, but sure enough, there it was with the driver and other CD's, in full 5 CD's of glory. Not just a demo or anything.

Cool little unexpected bonus. 🙂

Ive seen some ads for a free copy, if you buy a certain parts in combination, but I cant recall what parts you had to buy.

Mine was *in* the BFG 7800GTX box, not bundled into the same outer shipping carton by Best Buy or anything. Just 5 CD's in envelopes. Since they do bundle it with the 512M 6800 Ultra, I'm thinking they may have just accidentally put it in this box. New guy on the assembly line. 😉

Yeah, the T-shirt is at least listed on the box and the website though.

Good to see another person say they got Far Cry, though. Nowhere I'd looked had mentioned it so I thought I was getting away with something. 😉

I got Farcry as well. It was very unexpected, and not really needed. But made me smile anyways. Also got the short, and teflon pads.

Yeah, because people are spending the money for the unadvertised bundle.

Free is free. And when it wasn't even advertised, it's bonus. 🙂 Personally I didn't even own Far Cry, so now I do. So what if it's $20 now at most places? Sheesh, some people would complain if someone handed them a twenty-dollar bill because it wasn't a fifty.

to be honest i'd rather just have the graphics card in a brown box and get it a lot cheaper....all the extra gumpf helps drive the price up, dont even need the CD driver, lets face it, if your running that kind of hardware then u online with a phat pipe connection so you can download it!...lol

Far Cry is a great game, you should enjoy it.

Considering the BFG's MSRP is $599 just like the cards without "all the extra gumpf", it doesn't look like I'm really paying any more at all. There isn't a single white-box 7800GTX available yet, but there are several retail brands with no bundle at all, so a good price ($540) AND a good bundle aren't something I'm going to complain about.

And at speeds an order of magnitude above my old 5700, and vs. almost buying a 6800GT for $450 or 6800Ultra for $550 two months ago since they never even glanced at MSRP, much less 10% off MSRP, I'm happy with the price, too.
