Anyone else get disgusted by ads for feminine products?

I'm so grossed out by seeing ads for products for womens needs, and some are so graphic. I don't want to hear about periods and see a dancing red period on screen. Not to mention all the hygeine product commercials. They aren't even subtle or funny.

Yep, and the same goes for those ads about "All Natural Male Enhancement!" and how Bob is so freaking happy now that he's on that special pill. It's quite annoying.

Bob's hilarious. And yeah, I switch it when feminine ads come on.

OP - who old are you? I'm guessing you're cool with the Flowmax commercials, dealing with men's prostate and urination problems?

Graphic?? You must get very different commercials than I do.

The next post would be: "So I broke up with my girlfriend today. I just found out that she menstruates."

Fuck, I hate those too. Makes me cringe at the later years in life.

I don't see anything wrong with it. I find the workings of the female body strange but not necessarily disgusting, at least not to the degree that I can't stand any mention or allusion to them.

Didn't mean to rag on the op - don't know their background. If one hasn't grown up with and become desensitized to american, in your face advertising, you could easily by disturbed.

I'm more disturbed by other types: ones such as "if you don't buy our product then your children will die in a fire."

Women of the world - please stop having menstrual cycles - just to make this dude happy.

Maybe if you watched something other than TLC or HGTV, you wouldn't see said ads. Grow a nutsack and report back.

It's not just TLC or HGT, it's every channel at any given time of the day.

For the sake of argument I'm not naive and am aware that women menstruate and have different needs.

But I don't need an ad asking me if I ever feel unclean or an itch I can't scratch. "Price check on vagisil. Someone's got a bun in the oven and I think it's sourdough."

Nor do I need to be told about how the wings on this pad are better then brand x so my menstrual juice doesn't leak in my pants. Or how easily this tampon slides into your bleeding vagina and is meant to soak up even the heaviest flows.

I also don't need to see a stream of piss hitting a home pregnancy test.

The Bob ads are in poor taste as well.

I mean I don't know exactly how big the tampon and maxi pad industry is, but they don't need to be advertising as much as they do. Women don't just change brands willy nilly. It's like trying to convert a camel smoker to a marlboro.

And condom commercials are fine because some people need to be reminded to wrap it up.

Sounds to me like someone has yet to get his "Red-Wings"

At least they only use blue fluids for the 'examples'. Think of the alternatives...

Red? That's disgusting...
Yellow? Looks like urine...
Green? That's even more disgusting than red...
