anyone else get confused with affect and effect?

I have the most problems when figuring out when to use each one, anyone else have problems like this?

I am a self-proclaimed grammar afficionado, and I still mess them up every once in a great while. That's one of the hardest things to get correct in the English language.

I've never had a problem with effect and affect.
"Effect", ex. "The effect of this hurricane left the town in ruins."
"Affect", ex. "The hurricane affected this town more than any other."
