if you are using windows 7 and IE8 if you click on your favorites and from the drop down menu right click one you should see the delete option.

is next to the delete option a blue and green shield?

and if you select delete does it say you are permamently deleteing the file. thus bypassing the recycle bin.

I am using win 7 Ultimate 64bit.

need to submit the bug to MS and since this is the fastest responce area. want to get it in so it can be remedied ASAP.

thanks again

Yes. Coming to Anandtech is the best way to reach Microsoft.

Yup. Posting this at 1:02am pacific is the best time to find Win7 users. Everybody knows no Win7 user is awake during the day.

I don't see the shield and I don't get a permanently deleting message. I just get the standard, "Are you sure you want to move this shortcut to the Recycle Bin?" message.

No, that looks like a Win Defender or some type of 3rd-Party firewall/anti-virus program blocking you from deleting favorites?

One... it's not a bug. That icon is the Windows User Account Security Icon.
It's a setting somewhere in the user account security setting.

Two.. just because YOU dont like it .. doesn't mean its a bug and needs to be fixed ASAP.

Three...grow the fuck up.. if you dont want to "delete" something.. why did you choose delete?

Microsoft doesnt need to baby you when you delete.

If you're gonna delete.. DELETE.

"Hey, let me delete this file I don't need anymore...but I'll store it in this other folder (AKA Recycle Bin)."

I don't understand from your explanation what you think is a bug... The blue and green shield? Or the confirmation box?

no.. the thing is he posted with an attitude, that's why he got dick answers.

He came here, acting all hot shit.. "ooh i found a bug .. and i must get it fixed asap"

he assumed because it didnt do what he thought it should do, that it must be a bug, and it must be fixed.
