so i have this growth on a bone in my hand. I thought it was a bone spur but the general practitioner doc said it was a cyst and nothing needs to be done unless it gets to big and painful.

Anyone else have a bone cyst and if so what happened to it?

You are going to take ATOT's word over your doctor's? You are dumber than your avatar.

I have one on my right hand too. Not painful and I can only detect it occasionally.

Nice avatars

I have a ganglion cyst that appears just between the bone at the end of my arm and the first bone in my wrist. It's kind of annoying when it crops up, but if I don't bother it, it goes away within a week. Nothing to worry about from what the doc said (and some minor research). There is always the surgery option if it chronic, but he said it could cause more problems than it solves.

you're not a crab!

EDIT: I have a cyst on my tailbone that gets to be the size of about 3 stacked quarters. Hurts like hell sometimes, and I'm going in for surgery next week to have it taken out.

Same here, except it's right where the thumb, index finger, and wrist meet, good place since there's some space there for it to hang out, I only notice it when I remember it's there.

had one inside my left (or was it right) wrist. It's been gone for a while now. (10,15 years)

The doc told me it has something to do with a weakened wall in the pouch that holds fluid between the bones. The weak wall will allow fluid to bulge out sometimes and form the cyst. But generally, it goes away on its own. Mine has gone away fully at this point, but it was the 2nd time I have seen it (going away and eventually coming back). I think there are certain things that trigger it for me.
