Considering the source of the score is a company that wants to sell you their anti-depressants, I'm not sure I would trust the results.

Regardless, I've found the best anti-depressant is routine excercise. Might not work for everyone, but it works wondefully for me.

My thoughts exactly..

And I'm not knocking your claims or anything, depression is a rough thing.

I just don't think you can take a questionaire and figure out if your depressed or not, even if it is produced by an unbiased source. You need to talk to the people around you, doctor, etc..

2, probably would have been like a 20 if I took it 6 months ago.

I'm too stressed for depression!

Really?

I always considered you a happy, bubbly person. Was it a particular section that did you in? The sleeping habits part probably contributed more than 50% of my score.

I got a 9 .. the suicide question did me in.

Umm .. I don't like the questions though. Like .. "more than usual" .. well, what if you're always eating a lot, or sleeping a lot .. then lately you'd be the same or whatever. I don't buy it either, cause yeah, stupid pharmacuetical companies .. cashing in on other people's misery. I think that depression is a social issue more than a chemical issue. I get really depressed in the winter (Toronto Canada, long winters) and by March I want to kill myself. Right now though, I'm happy as can be. I love life. Sadness is a very valid emotion and just makes us more human. Sadness can be good too. People who never get sad, that might be a mental condition unto itself.

If you're a teenager, depression is pretty normal. Most people grow out of it, if you're old and you're depressed then you might have a problem. I also agree with the excercise bit too, excercise does a body (and mind) good. Diet too and just getting out of the house and enjoying the sunshine and the outdoors makes me happier than a pig in sh!t.

Don't believe this corporate crap, they have an interest in you believing yourself to be "depressed". There is no such biological illness as depression. What there is though is too much television, internet, junk food, shopping and all the other trappings of a shallow material existence. If you feel sad, go out and live.

I got a 9, even though I feel I've been very moody and irritable lately. Probably because my GF recently broke up with me. Ah well, guess I'm taking it pretty well then...

Thanks for the insight, Doctor. Or should I say Ignorant Slob. You know what would cheer me up though? An outbreak of flesh-eating bacteria in Berkeley.
