Anyone else ever have problems with GEIL memory?

I got an Asus A7N266-vm/aa today(1st one I've run accross), and promptly installed my 512MB Geil pc2700 (GEIL AMIR0330 GL3LC32G88TG-5A), It wouldn't let me install windows. It consistantly bsod'ed on me with the page fault error when loading the devices, I put in a stick of generic 256MB pc2100 and it worked fine, this is the first time I've run into a problem downclocking memory, before it has always worked great, any thoughts?

and on that thought I got a shuttle nforce2 IGP board that has flakey 3d problems, It's running 2@256MB GEIL pc3200 cl2.5 in it at pc 2700 cl2.(doesn't officially support ddr400) anyone think that could be causing an issue with that as well? (I'll test it with lower clocked memory later this weekend.

PC2700 will run @ 266 all day long. I'm running a Crucial 512mb PC2700 stick on my A7N266-VM without any problem s at all. You must have some bad ram.

I've now got the generic 2100 and a k-byte 2700 in it now, and it's running fine at 2100. must be an issue with geil on this mobo, I've sent an e-mail to Asus asking them about know issues with geil memory and their mobos, but don't expect to get a reply from them until monday or tuesday.

I'm running Corsair 2700 on a MSI KT3 Ultra and have had no problems even running fairly aggressive timings. I've heard of quite a few issues with the Geil memory.

that 512 Geil stick is running fine in my old p3 box, go figure. I swapped memory with it and my asus nforce board, they are both stable now.

has anyone had problems with geil and nforce2 running in dual channel boards?

got my replacement mobo today, the thing ran great until I tried to play a 3d game (star trek armada II), bsods, locks up, restarts, grrrr. So I pulled one of my 512 kinston pc 2700 cl2.5's from my kt4vl, it worked like a charm, no problems whatsoever. I then tried the geil memory in my msi board, and neither would even get past the post screen.

post below your stories on geil memory.

seems like a lot of geil and ocz memory don't like nforce2 boards

but work GREAT or fine with intel boards...

just how things are sometimes...
