Whenever I remember a dream, it's pretty much always been in English, except last night. Last night I had a dream that I was in Spain working at some store and a guy basically came into the store wanting to return a cash register and confused the hell out of everyone because he would say he wanted a refund, but then also say he wanted to keep the item. This was at a store that provides merchant services incase anyone cares.

I've been studying Spanish for about 5 years now so it makes sense that it could have happened, but it's still odd because the whole dream was in Spanish and I didn't have any thoughts in English at all.

they say you are really beginning to grasp a language when you begin to have dreams in that language.

I took German for 6 years starting when I was in middle school all the way through high school. When I was in my junior and senior years, I had about 1 dream a month in German. It was weird.. but then I thought wow! I can actually dream in German haha.

So yeah, once you start to get good at a language, and it become second nature to you, I'm sure that it is perfectly normal.

I mostly dream in English but sometimes I would dream in Korean, depending on the setting and individuals involved.

Yup I've had dreams in Tamil. It's always weird to have people that don't know Tamil speak it in my dreams.

I have date a few non-native english speakers and they all say that when they start dreaming in english is the point where they really start to feel comfortable with the language. However, i should add this occurs after being immersed in an english speaking environment. So, this may not be your case...

Yeah, I haven't been in something like that - I have however been thinking about studying abroad opportunities in a Spanish speaking country. At the same time, recently one of the songs I was listening to (techno) had some words in Spanish, for some reason it got me thinking about the topic a lot. I think the combination of those things might have triggered it.

In any case, I thought that the dream was really cool just because it wasn't in English :)

Yes, in German. I was at the peak of my fluency after having studied in Düsseldorf for a semester.
