Man, I can't remember a worse year than this one. I've been dying for about a month now, and have missed 4 days of work in the last 2 weeks. Everyone around me seems to be sick also.

Right now I am on 24 hour Allegra, and it is definitely helping, but man, my head and nose are stuffed beyond belief. Nasal decongestants have stopped working for me, so I have been avoiding them (hate the rebound effect.)

I can't take more of this...lol

Its a heavy allergy season here, combined with windy weather the last few days and road construction near by and my allergies are going nuts too.

Some days in the past month have been HORRIBLE. I swear my throat almost closed up a few times.

For the love of GOD, plants. Finish your sex-having ways so that I may live again!

I mowed my dead yard a few weeks ago and that was brutal. I was plugged up for a few days.

It's a lot better now, the windy weather and rain has swept it all away from us and probably delivered it somewhere else.

It's been brutal here. It was raining for two weeks straight so the trees have been saving up all their pollen. As soon as we had a few dry days - POOF! It's like a tree orgy over here.

I am right there with ya man. I have had BAD grass and tree pollen allergies my entire life - this year is one of the worst in recent memories. To make matters even worse for me, the OTC 24-hour loratadine (Generic Claritin) wasn't doin much for me. I bought some OTC CVS Allegra equivalent and it is keeping the runny nose, congestion, and red itchy eyes in check. However, it is making me fuzzy-headed along with a headache, muscle/joint aches, and a sour stomach.

I am not sure what is worse - the allergy symptoms or the drug side-effects. I hope the side effects go away in the next few days as my body gets used to this new drug - it has been the best at clearing up my allergy symptoms to date.

We should all do a massive group-send of ragweed and other allergens to amdhunter in an attempt to hurry the dying process along...:p

I alternate the medicine I use every year. I also only take the medicine during the worst part of the tree pollen season (April/May). This seems to keep my body from building up a tolerance to any one medicine.

I have a 3 year rotation between Claritin, Allegra, and Zyrtec.

Out of those 3 I have found Zyrtec seems to work the best.

i usually suffer from slight allergies on the worst days. But this is the first year I actually felt the need to go buy some allergy medication. I was miserable on sunday, but allegra made me feel a lot better. Yesterday was ok since I was working from home and was inside all day. Today isnt as bad as sunday - not bad enough to take medicine.

just think, its a tree bukkake on your face!

Claritin doesnt do any thing for me so i use generic Allegra and Zyrtec, but only on the worse days in march and april for me. Im also using generic flonase for the nose (works like a charm for me).

nothing i try (drops and pills) helps for my itchy eyes though. i want to wash my eyeballs sometimes.

Pretty mild for me this year, but I'm taking an antihistamine anyway as a preventative measure.

Same here. I NEVER get Spring allergies, always Fall allergies, but for whatever reason I've been sniffling/sneezing for like the last month.

Drugs (antihistamines) don't do shit.

FUCK.

Have you tried ZADITOR (Ketotifen)?

There are generic equivalents as well. This is the ONLY eye medicine that has ever done anything for my "allergy eyes"

I'm dying but not from allergies - but yeah, horrible year. Tree pollen is poison. Never yet found a med that helps. I hate meds. I hate tree pollen. I hate breathing. Oh, wait. I'd love breathing if only I could do it.

Anyone who laughs at the idea that NJ is The Garden State should try living here when all this greenery goes hogwild.

Nope.
Despite all my other problems I've been blessed with an allergy-free body.
Of course, I hear you can develop allergies over time, so I have that to look forward to.

thats what happened to me. Wasn't allergic to anything throughout and until my college years. Now I get mild seasonal allergies (getting worse) and everytime I go to a household with pets, I start sneezing!

It's been a horrible year for me as well. I only WISH my nose would be plugged up.

But nooooooooooooo........it had to run like a dripping faucet. Eyes were so watery and itchy last week I wanted to pluck them out and rinse them in cold water.

And, of course, I took days off my usual job to work at our business...which happens to be a florist......and the stoopid Oriental Lily pollen drove me up an effen wall it was so bad. I looked real good delivering flowers to people looking like I was a crying zombie.....lol.

Of the meds I've taken (Benadryl, Claritin, Zirtec), only Zirtec has seemed to help. Thankfully I'm back at my regular indoor job now that Prom/Mothers Day is over for another year.

I can't tell. I'm congested quite often (much more than normal this year), and the doc prescribed me with Allegra, and I have tried OTC meds, but they don't seem to make a difference. I also get migraines quite often in the spring.

I was breastfed, grew up in the country on a farm with no air conditioning and I still have terrible allergies. What's your point?

Generally, people who were breastfed has less allergies the those that were not. Being breastfed does not mean your "not" going to have allergies.

Between my brother and I, I was breastfed and have slight allergies; my brother was not breastfed and has terrible allergies. I still have allergies, but not near as bad as my brother.

Worse for me is my 2 year old has allergies but wants to be outside all the time. Generic childrens zertec helps him a lot but I hate giving him drugs at such a young age.

I never really had any; but since I moved to N.VA my nose will run when I am outside for a while.
