My friend is still on his Atkins diet, and it helped him lose 30 pounds or so. He doesn't even work out much or exercise in other ways. He doesn't eat bread and a buncha other things.
i'm divided on weither to start such a diet. a couple of my cousins are doing it, and they've lost decent amounts of weight (20-30 lbs), but seeing as how my family has a history of high cholesterol, i dunno if it's worth the risk.
On the contrary it is being found to be very healthy. These low carb diets are lowering cholesterol as well. Its different but better than the high carb trash most of us live on.
