Ordered some Thai for take-out. Taking care of the kid and standing outside shaking my fist at people doing fireworks.

it's pouring rain here so no going anywhere.

I usually do Chinese food but the restaurant is closed.

My wife made some hot wings. They were quite tasty!

My five year old doesn't really understand the concept of a New Year, yet. At least she understands that we'll need a new cat calendar, anyway!

We had 2-3 NYE parties we were invited to which usually get pretty crazy, but the wife had to short notice work out of town, so nothing exciting this year.

try to take over the world!

man i tell ya what, animaniacs/freakazoid/PatB were the golden age of cartoons

I still remember so much from it. I had a nastalgia moment and had to go back and watch this video...

And I took particular note of when it says "And the press will distort everything that you say"... Subtle things that I never understood as a kid.

We're still in the process of moving. Got to the new house about 5pm (pacific) with the last load of stuff. Parked the truck, drove to a local bar for broasted chicken...and a beer. Now home...finally. I doubt I'll see midnight this year.

Normally I'd be with family (they typically go to bed before midnight so I'd still be at home for that) but I'm at work so... doing nothing. :p

I can't help remembering new years eve 2000, Y2K. The world as we know it was supposedly to end at midnight.
Who'd have ever thought November 2016 would be the end of the world, as we know it. ;)

For all we know the world did end multiple times and we just don't realize it since we immediately got summoned in a new universe state. Kinda like restoring a backup from a crashed server. *x-files theme sound*

I am posting on a forum.
Wife is reading about knitting.

We have a bottle of Moscato D'Asti open as well as some Scotch (I'm not a whisky guy, but, I actually like this: Highland Queen Majesty 12 year single malt.)

Also, we went full hipster today, and went to "Kitakata Ramen Ban Nai" for lunch after working a half day. It was fuggin goooooood

We had a poll here about which is better, Ramen or Pho, I may have originally voted for pho, but, after today, I'm now firmly entrenched in the Ramen gang.

Finished Bird Box with the wife in bed then fell asleep at 11:19pm according to my Fitbit. I only get 6 hours a night max and wake up automatically so here I am. Is it 2019 now? Ok.

Damn it man when'd you fall off the wagon?

I debated going to bed at 930 because I didn't want to get woke up by all my crazy neighbors banging pots, lighting fireworks and shooting guns at midnight. Went to bed anyway and luckily slept right through it.

Yep. Usually we go for fireworks somewhere but opted to get away from everyone this year for some peace and quiet. I think we went to bed around 11:15

I made French onion soup, watched a couple of movies, then went to bed at ~11p.m. to read and fell asleep before midnight.

I didn't feel well and was bored, so I fell asleep around 11:30 just to hear the fireworks going off at midnight.
