I think I've been doing this for many years (mostly in school)... but anyway I always use the palm of my hand against my chin and press up and left then up and right to twist my neck (cause ya know ya gotta do it both ways). It makes a quite loud sound. People around my even hear it. They think it's weird cause they think I'll snap my neck or something but wow I don't think so. I use a bit of force sometimes but it just makes a loud crack. I don't know if this is any good or not... but it's just a habit!!

I only crack my next if it's really feeling strange or I have a headache near the back of my head.

same here, esp. if something feels tight back there, like if I slept with my head in a strange position

Yeah I guess I go slowly sometimes too. It's when it's really hard to get out that I got to go quicker.

Go see a chiropractor for a real neck adjustment. But I do the neck-cracking quite a bit myself. More so now that I see a chiro, just easier to do now.

Come to think of it, it's not just my neck. My fingers, toes and back are all on the list. I should stop.

I have already done it several times today. My neck cracks really loudl when I have been looking down for awhile and I look up quickly. It is a really loud pop in the back of my neck. Usually I will only do it when my neck feels stiff or something else is bothering me there. I also have gotten into the habit if poping my back too.

Weird. I've never done it on the back, just both sides.

*flails head up and down maniacly trying to make it pop in the back*

I heard cracking your knuckles can cause arthiritis (sp?) in your hands, so I assume it can do the same in your back, neck, toes, etc..

Neck, back, wrist, and my left ring finger. All from a car wreck about 6 years ago. Get some mean headaches once in a while.
