Anyone else collect vintage stuff?

Lately i've been on a vintage kick, and fixing up old radios. I have a 1926 Atwater Kent Model 35 radio enroute to my house right now that I got for a cheap price. Seems like less and less people know how to work on tube equipment anymore.

I like nothing better than getting a old radio that looks like it was buried in the ground for 90 years, restoring it, hunting for old parts, getting it all tuned & aligned, putting the B+ power to it and hearing Rush Limbaugh. 🙂

well, I'm not a collector, but I've got an old (@1951) guitar amp that I'm trying to get to playable condition. 🙂

I enjoy glass audio, but I approach it from a design standpoint, not restoration. I designed a tube preamp for a 550+ Watt Bass Guitar amplifier because the tubes have a more mellow sound.

I have an old Realistic stereo reciever from 1980. Apparently it was top of the line then, with two phono inputs, four speaker outputs and a lot of other features. Plenty of power to drive the speakers that I have, so I'm not buying a newer stereo.

Does this count?

I collect vintage mustang memorabilia. One day I'm going to restore one to original configuration and then restore another one and beef it up to super sleeper proportions.

I'll still race ya and whoop your ass in my stang. 😀

Its no fun anymore. I've beat ricers, Vettes, Porsches, old muscle cars... I'd like to sell it and get a 69' Cuda with a 426 Hemi installed, but I'm dreaming.
