I've recently started getting into wine...its very relaxing and pleasant to drink with certain foods for sure. Plus it makes me feel sophisticated :p

BTW my favorite cheap wine so far is Yellowtail Shiraz/Cabernet (mix of both) in the purple labeled bottle. Best $7.99 wine evar!

I seriously prefer the taste of straight vodka to wine, just a sip of a merlot or something and I rush to get the taste out of my mouth. Even with 151 I can go without a chaser after a full shot..wine on the other hand, bleck.

i hate dry wines

semi dry and sweet ones i can deal with, but i never liked grape juice as a kid and cant get over that, i cook with wine at times, but i dont drink it often.

I don't like wine, champagne or beer.

Tried the cheap stuff, tried the pricey stuff... don't fancy any of it, much prefer "girly mixed drinks." :)

I like wine, but mostly with a meal. A good wine with a good meal is a great combination and makes both the wine and meal better. I'll drink a glass of wine without a meal on occasion, but I'd never try to get drunk on wine, IMO it's not good for that purpose(though I don't care to be drunk, so that just might be me).

Wine kicks your ass if you drink enough of it. With beer you know you're getting drunk. Five glasses of wine seem like nothing to down in 10 minutes... untilllllllllll you call all your ex girlfriends and call them bitches.

So yes, I love wine :D

So until then, I can't stand wine.

I ferment my own wine, and the last 5 gallon batch I did I used blackberries (grow like weeds here in the NW) and a champagne yeast, and it turned out pretty tasty, particularly when chilled. I'm not sure if you can buy fruit wines at the grocery store, but I know a lot of other folks homebrew them, there has to be a few wineries that sell them. I could post a recipe later on if anyone is interested.

I used to think that too, but drink it some more and you'll get used to the wine taste... Now I don't think they are so bad...

I like wine. Cheap, expensive, whatever. Even when it's bad, it's not all that bad. I can even enjoy MD20/20 or Thunderbird :p
Of course I like most alcohol (Bud, Coors, and their ilk excluded).
Port, Sherry, most liquors... soft spot for Jager or JD.

Hate wine desperately. I use vodka chasers after wine.

i like it better or as well as beer but i can't afford to drink it on a regular basis and cheap beer is better than cheap wine (and cheaper). but i always have a couple bottles of red wine, plus a bottle of champange on hand for special occasions.

so i usually end up drinking 30-cent/can miller lights or $30/bottle wines. :D

I'm starting to make the transition into wine. I've had it quite alot recently and it's REALLY starting to grow on me. I love trying different ones.

while i'm no wine expert, i do enjoy a glass of wine from time to time. My particular favorite is Moscato D'Asti, a light white wine, that's pretty good with most any meal and even in just conversation since it's light enough. Though i do admit, i haven't really found a red i really enjoy yet :(

Try Beaulieu Vineyards Tapestry. about $30/bottle so a bit high to try as an experiment. But everyone who I recommend that wine to loves it.

BV Tapestry is a great wine. If you like that one, try the Estancia Meritage.

I don't like wine much either. The only bottle that I enjoyed was a 30 year old Portuguese red. It tasted a lot like earthy currants. It was very good, even if it hadn't been stored in best of conditions.

However, most wines are too bitter for me. I can't stand the aftertaste.

My drink of choice as a wine replacement is dry mead. If you're unfamiliar with mead, its basically fermented honey and water. As with everything, its can be very hit or very miss. I've found the darker meads to be rather foul. However, there is a company east of Seattle called Sky River that makes an excellent bottle. LINK. I highly recommend it, especially given that its only $9.50/bottle.

I make my own also, though so far it's just been from the kits. I just bottled a batch of port a few weeks ago. The last port I made was great!

When I did part of a bicycle tour down the oregon coast I remember TONS of blackberries along the roads. I'd just stop and gorge myself :p I love blackberry wine - there's at least one Colorado winery that makes a decent one. I've also had a really good blackberry/merlot blend!
