Anyone else buy K-Byte memory & have problems?

I bought a 256MB PC133 stick from Staples when they had it for $10 AR.

At first it seemed to be working fine, then I noiced that it would give me a BSOD when I was using one specific program.
By this time the UPC had been mailed in with rebate and Staples would not take it back.
They told me to call K-Byte

I did and got this a$$hole on the phone who refused to admit the memory was at fault.
First he said the memory was not compatible with my PC - said I needed PC100.
When I told him my other stick of PC133 was running perfectly he blamed the application....said it was not handling memory properly.

I know that K-byte is a cheapo brand, but still.......if it's faulty replace it. :|

Curious as to whether anyone else has had problems with them?

I got in on the same deal and I haven't had any problems.

I reckon it is probably just one faulty range of the memory that most apps to not use, but this one does

WIndows applications do not allocate thier own memory. Windows is responsible for providing memory to applications. There's no way a windows (or linux, or OS X) application can specifically request a certain block of physical memory. If they try to access memory that has not been allocated to them, windows will kill them with a General Protection Fault or similar error.

Just buy another stick, swap it and return it. Its all going back to the factory anyways and Staples don't lose anything

I got in on this deal, but my price was $20 after rebate. The first stick gave me registry errors upon boot. I took out the stick and it was fine. Went back and exchanged it for another. I haven't tried it yet, it's still sitting on my desk. I guess I better put it in.

Put it in a booted twice. It seems to be fine.
Anyone know of a stress test for ram that runs in windows?
