It does for me.
I'm been grinding out near 50 hrs work week ever since I've been back to Orlando with no end in sight.

When this guy Mark, took off to travel the world, I've been reading his Blog religiously every day with great envy.
Yeah, you can say, I'm living one of my fantasy through him.

I almost done closing on a house right now so my plan is:
Next 2 yrs, save up more money and then sell the house.
All the gains on the house will be tax free and I should net at least $100K++ on this.
Then I can use some of that money to travel the world.
Live out one of my dream before settling down(I will be 35 by then).

Sounds great ?? I hope.
Anyone else bore with their life and just want to take off ??

I read the blog nearly daily. I'm definitely envious of Mark. Apparently the site has been suspended though. :(

I've read a lot of the blog too ... but it doesn't drive me too crazy, since I've done a lot of the things he is doing now, especially his travels in Australia. Does make me miss those carefree days though ... a job, a house and a new community are keeping me busy, as is my family (and I'd be remiss not to mention golf! :))

Just so you guys know, we're working on the issue, there was an unusually large usage of the memory from this site and it should be solved ASAP.

Travelling the world has never interested me and I've never understood people who want to "do and see everything before they die" because it sounds like such an empty pursuit that would only leave you with one reverberating conclusion upon your death bed................."that was it??!!"

You're in the minority.
So when you're 90, you'll be telling your kids and grand kids..."yeah, I work this great 9-5 job and...."

Yes.

Actually I already have it all set up!

Well I'd say 80% completed anyways.

This time next year I will be somewhere around Zhangzhou China. I don't speak a word of Chinese, I'm not done with school and I have no money.

I am spending 1 month in Zhengzhou, and I will spend the rest of the time seeing how far and how long I can use the rest of my money travelling around Asia by train etc. I want to go for atleast 2 months.

Who knows, I might be there for one month, and decide to immediately come back, or I might stay for 5 etc. *shrug*

This is not something I should be doing but hey, too bad.

I'll worry about it all of this whenever I decide to come back to the states.

Simple as that.

Yes, Cernax is hosting it, there is an issue with memory usage and some issue with persistent connections, I'm working on it alongside someone else I work with.

After a year out of college with no signs of finding a job in my field, i've thought about joining NOVA and teaching english overseas at either Japan or China. It could be a good experience, but the thought of spending a year at a place where I can't speak the language frightens me.

I made a thread about this last month about the exact same thing! I've since found many travellers like Mark's. Check out http://www.neverbecomplete.com for a great one that is going on now.

I'm saving up the money now for a RTW (Round the World) as well. My estimated date of departure will be around December 2006! I can't wait... sure it sucks working everyday right now, but like the author of "Vagabonding" Rolf Potts say: "A vacation merely rewards work; vagabonding JUSTIFIES it."

I'm working hard right now to save up the money, but each day worked is closer to my dream of exploring the world.

I really want to start in Africa but I heard that it is a very hard place to backpack for a newbie; the route that Mark is taking is a lot nicer as there is an established backpacking culture there. However, I just can't wait to climb Kilimanjaro!

For inspiration anytime you guys are feeling down about work, check out (from theglobaltrip.com): http://www.eeyartee.com/theglobaltrip/wouldyou/
