Anyone do this? Run Ubuntu from CF card? Any speed issues?

Alrighty, I have a spare mini-ITX setup that I'm considering turning into my file server/FTP server/download server/etc. For size and energy considerations, I'd like to run the OS from CF card, while having a typical RAID 5 array for storage hosted on a PCI card. I'm considering some flavor of Ubuntu for the OS.

Has anyone run Linux from a CF card and have any input? I'm looking at a 4GB 133x card from Newegg for $50 as a possible candidate.

Thanks!

I have installed ubuntu on a usb flash drive and a 2gb CF card using a usb CF adapter and it works just fine. Version was 7.04 Ubuntu Feisty Fawn.
