Anyone do that %16 off crucial memory?

Nope, the original price is $47.99, discount price after 16% off is $40.31... Damn, RAM prices are on the way up again. 🙁

<< I 512MB PC2100 about 3 weeks ago for about $31 each. 😀 >>

Crucial doesn't have 512MB PC2100 modules....are you referring to (2) 256's?

side question, when is Crucial planning on selling 512 MB pc2100 sticks? Also any idea where I could find pc2700 ram, will Crucial be releasing that any time soon?

Wierd, PC 2100 spiked, but PC 133 is still at the same price it has been for a couple of weeks.:Q If it were a general DRAM runup, the PC133 would have gone up with it, so I'm wondering here if it isn't something else. Mabey Crucial is "behind the curve" in component prices, and just started using some of the more expensive DDR chips, while still working off the cheaper SDR chips?

yeah i picked up 3x256mb of PC2100 on 11/10... this was right after the first "rumors" of prices going up.

paid $29.39 per stick and $5.29 in tax. about $31 per stick shipped.

FRom what I hear this is a holiday price hike, and it should go back down after christmas. I got in on the 16%off deal, and I am glad I did. Got 2x256MB sticks, and I just picked up 1x128MB stick of Crucial 2100DDR

PC2700 DDR is a joke! I can't believe some of you people out there actually buy into these fabrigated standards by second rate RAM suppliers!

I bet you are the same people who believe the new Athlon XP 1900+ runs at 1900Mhz right?

The Crucial 2100DDR Memory is pretty much considered the best in the industry, there are others that may be slightly better, but seems from a compatability, speed, cost point, Crucial is the best. And that is why their brand of memory is talked about so much in these forums.

Crucial is definetly quality stuff. That's one reason I asked when they were coming out with pc2700.

If PC2700 is a joke, I'm not laughing. From what I can tell, it's just DDR at 166 MHz. A logical evolution from PC2100. Sis seems to be supporting it in their upcoming chipsets, so I wouldn't call it

<< a fabrigated [sic] standard by second rate RAM suppliers >>

.

And yes I do know that the 1900+ runs at 1600 MHz 😛

last year I picked up a 256MB stick of PC133 for just under $100! Man that was a great price; I couldn't believe how low it was...!
