Anyone dealt with Outside Loop or the Overclockerz store?

Outside Loop has a lot of comments on resellerratings.com, and they're so OVERWHELMINGLY positive that it seems they've never sold anyone a bad product. It's almost enough to make me suspicious ;) They sell barebones systems with Asus mobos and Durons guaranteed to work at 7x133.

Don't know anything about Outside Loop but Overclockerz has received horrible ratings from people unfortunate enough to buy something from them. They've cleared their ratings twice on Resellerratings.com due to flooding with false positive reviews. Stay as far away from them as you can.

Yep, that's what I read too. Outside Loop is different in that there's no negative reviews at all. If they'd flooded the site with false positives, wouldn't negative ones still be there? Unless they just started up and the people they screwed haven't written in yet ;) Newegg.com is another one where there almost seem to be too few complaints.

Outside loop has been around a long-while now.

If reseller ratings catches you flooding your own ratings wtih positive reviews, they wipe the slate to "0"(at least this is what htey did when Overclockerz.com was caught giving themselves positive reviews). :D

i wonder how they catch people....you have to be pretty stupid to be caught in something like that. I mean, of course if someone posts 20 positive reviews under differnet names from the same IP they'll get caught. If they werent so stupid, theyd use diff ISPs and post reviews...not that I condon that or anything..

well, hte overclockerz.com people obviously assume that people won't find out that overclockerz.com, athlonoc.com(reviewsite), and hardwareoc.com(reviewsite) are all owned and run by the same individual. They're a fairly shady company, IMO.

I tried to buy some stuff from Overclockerz - they took forever to deliver and when they did the order was wrong.

Just take a look at the overclockerz site and that should answer your questions to how they do business. Totally unprofessional.

I purchased a pretested 700@933 from Bill at Outsideloop on Christmas week. I didn't pay for fast delivery yet Bill upgraded me to second day air so I could get my chip by x-mas. I call that above and beyond. The chip has been running @966 since the day I got it @ default voltage. That's what I asked for and that's what I got.

I would not hesistate to order from them again.

I've had a friend who purchased a few durons from overclockerz.com before and he seems to receive them in a well manner, but for the majority of the people, they've had some sort of run around with this company. I would seriously avoid them. What will a few bucks save you, when you don't get your product or receive something else instead. It's a @itch dealing with returns with online retailers, especially the shipping.

I got my board and Tbird from Outside Loop before Xmas, arrived on time and worked first time. Not the cheapest place to buy, but reliable. I've been very satisfied with their service.

Enough with the Overclockerz-bashing ;) hehe THIS is what I mean about Outside Loop-who are these saintly supermen???!! How can they not have gotten even ONE of us lathered up against them? Have they violated every cannon of this 'Buyer-Beware' industry and CAREFULLY TESTED everything before it goes out, without jacking-up their prices too much??? They sell guaranteed-to-overclock CPU's for about what Overclockerz charges, and Abit mobos, which are less than perfectly reliable, yet no one bitches or even talks about having to return something

I spend a lot of time at 2CPU.com and they have lots good to say about them over there, too. I haven't ordered anything personally from either though.

I bought an articooler from ocz a few months ago. It arrived well packaged and it was the only place I could find this item at a decent price. It did take them a very long time to ship it though. Unless it is a unique item, buy from someone else.

As for newegg, they had the best price I could find with shipping on motherboards and it arrived very fast. It appears that they deserve their current rating. However it appears that they are selling at low margins so I would expect their ratings to slip in the coming months as their accountants do the math. Probably trying to make a reputation at the expense of their bottom line.
